Ludwig Wittgenstein

1889 – 1951

Ludwig Wittgenstein was one of the most significant philosophers of the 20th century and the youngest child of one of Austria's most prominent industrial families at the turn of the century, who played an exceptionally influential role in Vienna's cultural life.

His artistic talents, as well as his interest in architecture and design, led Wittgenstein to personally design and construct his sister Margarethe's residence in Vienna between 1926 and 1928. Among other things, he created a unique pair of door handles, developed from a round bar. We have reimagined this design and updated it to meet modern technological standards.
